I picked up this eighth of True OG at The Bohemian Chemist dispensary at The Madrones, which has a lovely selection of sungrown craft cannabis. As an Angeleno who has actually been told, “I’m not familiar with that brand” when requesting sungrown flower at a dispensary, every time I get the chance to pick up something new, craft and boutique from the Emerald Triangle, I will - especially when in Mendocino.

According to That Good Good’s website, they are an Anderson Valley, Mendocino Couty “off-grid, solar-powered, family farm cultivating premium craft cannabis in organic living soil.” If this isn’t enough to pique your interest, their website offers additional insight to their practices. I wouldn’t normally copy-paste like this, but I love the way That Good Good is telling its own story, and I’m happy to amplify their message and mission. They write, “We cultivate less than a quarter acre, divided among terraces throughout our 300-acre property. On a mountain top, bordering tens of thousands of acres of timberland, this variety of small garden locations allows us to access localized microclimates. We draw on these natural variations to cater to the growing preferences of different cultivars throughout the season. Our flowers grow just above the fog line. The cool nights and warm, full-sun days we enjoy provide the optimal conditions California legacy cannabis farming was built on.”

The brand continues to share information about their living soil and organic cultivation techniques, which have ben honed and handed down through decades of seasons “on the hill.”

Craft cannabis, grown in a region known for intensity of flavor developed by long sunny days and cool foggy evenings, organically cultivated in living soil in a diverse ecosystem by seasoned producers dedicated to the art and legacy of the plant??? Sign me up to the cult of That Good Good!

What you’ll really love about That Good Good is, of course, its beautiful flower. I was instantly transfixed by the pungent aromas of the True OG, which burst out of the jar with remarkable force before melting into warm and dreamy citron hops, lemon peel, pine and wood. Nose-lingering and enticing, this is one you’ll really want to come back to time and time again.

Beautiful flower with soft shape and multi-color green hues and amber stigmas. The effect is bright and balanced; euphoric and long-lasting. The perfect strain for a long summer day! If you’re lucky enough to encounter some of this special flower, give it a try!
