I’ve been a long-time fan of Lagunitas Hi-Fi Hops and their line of sessionable cannabis drink products. One of the most recognizable qualities of this beverage is its distinct hoppy notes, which amazingly mirrors Lagunitas beer due to the cultivar of hops the brewery uses to produce their products. While Hi-Fi Sessions Hoppy Balance does not contain alcohol, it serves as a perfect substitute for those who love hoppy drinks, presenting enticing notes of tropical fruits on the nose, such as passion fruit and guava, followed by a myriad of grapefruit, tangerine, and other citrus fruits.

If consumed from a glass, this beverage opens up with soft citrus blossom and herbal characteristics on the nose, deepening the drink's complexity. This beverage is incredibly refreshing on the palate, with soft hops and pink citrus flavors that interact with the taste buds.
This drink is light and bright, with a well-integrated and neutral cannabis emulsion (no bitterness) that doesn't compete with the aromas and flavors of the beverage. It is also not sweet (hooray!) and contains zero calories and zero grams of sugar, which is a huge bonus.

If poured into a glass, you’ll quickly notice the clarity of this drink is a bit hazy (which is typical for cannabis beverages), but the appearance doesn’t distract from the overall quality. When sipped out of the can, the bubbles present themselves quite nicely, but they do not hold up well in a glass (the bubbles go flat quickly).

I love the effects of this drink as well, perfectly balanced, social, and uplifting. If you want to pair this beverage with food, ceviche or fish tacos topped with tropical salsa would be an ideal match. ~ Jamie Evans
