Carbon Fiber by Cali Sol
89 Points
The Quick Hit:
Cali Sol’s Carbon Fiber presents dark-green, well-cured buds with a clean, eruptive terp profile of roses, citrus, Tanghulu berries, and a subtle industrial edge. The flavors mirror the nose with diesel-bright oranges, berry-tinged solvent notes, and warm grape-jelly spice. Effects come on quickly: a bright, uplifting cerebral lift with energized euphoria and clear-headed creativity. A calm, regulated body feel follows—relaxing like a single strong IPA in the sun without drifting into sleepiness. A balanced, “thinky” cultivar, it’s excellent for mood, focus, and problem-solving.
The Full Toke:
3rd place in the first inaugural MJBowl—put on by Budist and MJBiz, and one of my personal standouts from the competition—Cali Sol’s Carbon Fiber is the high-end performance car of the weed world. Sleek, powerful, understated, and capable of going from zero to sixty in about 2.8 seconds.
Well-trimmed, rich dark-green buds with a fresh frost of trichomes that looks more like a pine forest after a light winter storm than a raging blizzard, but beautiful all the same. Dense, sticky, sandy (not oily), with aromas that erupt the second you crack the grinder.
Carbon Fiber expresses some of the loudest terps I’ve pulled from outdoor flower. The strain just smells… clean. Fresh roses, bright citrus, rich, sweet Tanghulu berries. Open your heart chakra and you might let in the wild, industrial, rubber-cement acridity this cultivar throws off. It’s like a mechanic shop built in the middle of a botanical garden, regulations be damned.
The first drag—and every follow-up hit—is a mirror image of the aromas, a dead giveaway that this flower wasn’t just harvested well; it was cured and handled by loving hands. The flavors aren’t as punchy as the nose, but the diesel-soaked oranges, berry-infused solvents, and warm, ginger-spiced grape-jelly notes are downright delectable. Finger-licking good. And more layered than Paul Thomas Anderson’s “One Battle After Another.”
Cali Sol didn’t just earn their 3rd-place win, they deserve an Oscar for Best Original Terp Profile.
The effects hit fast and clean, lighting up the brain like someone cracked open a skylight. Colors feel a touch brighter, thoughts move with a little extra voltage, and that uplifting, energized euphoria settles in like good news. It’s happy weed. Giggly weed. The kind of “I suddenly have ten ideas” weed that makes creativity feel less like work and more like play.
And yet, there’s a calm beneath it. A regulated, sun-on-your-shoulders relaxation, like one strong IPA or a couple lazy hours spent outside. Never sleepy, never foggy. Just steady, grounded, and surprisingly good for problem-solving.
Carbon Fiber is thinky weed in the best possible way: it sharpens without stressing, loosens without dulling, and leaves you cruising in that rare sweet spot where everything feels doable.
