Zuni by No Till Kings
95 Points
Zuni from No Till Kings is an indica-leaning cultivar that delivers exactly what you’d hope for when you want to melt into the couch and lose track of time. Born from living soil and lineage of Soap x Zlushies (Z x Strawberry Fritter), right off the bat, Zuni’s aroma hits you with a wave of sweet nostalgia; think jam-filled pastries or fresh strawberry Pop-Tarts torn open at midnight. It’s the kind of scent that makes you stop and just breathe it in for a while, mouth watering, anticipating the treat you’re about to enjoy.
The bud itself is beautifully grown and handled. The nug structure is squat, dense yet fluffy enough to break apart with ease, and it’s clear whoever trimmed and cured this flower knew what they were doing. Orange pistils and loads of trichomes blanket every surface and sparkle as I break down the herb to smoke. Clocking in at 16% THC, Zuni might not catch the eye of those simply chasing numbers, but it’s a perfect reminder that THC is only half the story. The other star here is the terpene profile packed with syrupy, fruit-forward notes that truly set the strain apart. Together, the entourage effect of this cultivar is indeed special.
One standout terpene is linalool, which is commonly found in lavender and known for its deeply relaxing qualities, helps explain why this flower hits hard yet settles you into such a mellow, euphoric state. Linalool-forward cannabis is always in my herbal apothecary for relaxation times: Zuni’s a perfect strain for winding down after a long day when all you want to do is get horizontal, binge a show, and forget about tomorrow for a few hours.
A couple of bongrips in, I felt an immediate, deep head shift that also washed over my whole body with warm tingles. The flavor is similar to the aroma with the smoke giving me sweet fruit-smoothie and feels expansive in my lungs and gave me very little coughing. The relaxation was potent but gentle, leaving me at ease and borderline fused with my couch cushions. If you’re looking for a strain that’s about the entire experience, Zuni from No Till Kings is a delicious, terp-rich option. I really enjoyed Zuni and I’ll absolutely reach for it again.
