As a 40+ year fan of the Grateful Dead, I am thrilled to be reviewing this limited time collaboration between Garcia Hand Picked and Solful in honor of Jerry Week and the 60th Anniversary of the Grateful Dead! This Orange Sunshine Pre-Roll from Alpenglow Farms is one of three Emerald Triangle craft cultivars that have been curated for this lineup.

From Alpenglow Farms: "This was grown in the earth and under the sun on the mountain ridge top right above where Jerry had played at French's Camp - Southern Humboldt - Reed Mountain." 

Popping the tube results in a supremely intense aroma with prominent orange and terpinolene notes. Smelling the joint further, there is also a healthy amount of funky beach bathroom wafting off of it - the sound of this might turn some people off, but I really like this touch of funk! Checking out the roll, it's perfectly packed and capped off to precision and looks just like something I'd roll on my own.

A dry-hit on the joint has truly outstanding intensity and I am able to pick up flavors of sour mandarin orange and a touch of lavender, yum! Lighting up and taking a few puffs, the outstandingly smooth smoke highlights a minty orange chai flavor. There's also more lavender that comes out as the joint burns down, delivering a pleasant floral finish that is flavorful all the way to the end.

Orange Sunshine delivered some uplifting and focused vibes for me as I expected from the aroma. This is a great all-day smoke that is moderately strong and has a good duration of effects - perfect for enjoying an afternoon of music in Golden Gate Park!
