Live Resin Soft Gels by Buddies

I recently received three different products from Buddies: 25mg THC Soft Gels, a lotion roll-on and a 1:1:1 sleep tincture. My wife and I had a date night planned, and this felt like the perfect time for me to try all three! The first stop on our night out was to our favorite sushi restaurant in San Francisco (Ace Wasabi), followed by Dirty Dancing Live, where they showed the movie on a big screen with a live band accompanying the movie playing all the memorable songs and the score. It was a gift for my wife, but I can’t say I wasn’t excited as well.
The Buddies 25mg Soft Gels, made with live resin from the cultivar Lobster Butter (Butter OG x Peanut Butter Souffle), seemed perfect for the show. I didn’t know much about Lobster Butter, but my research showed me that the dominant terpenes are myrcene, limonene and beta-caryophyllene, which is a combination that relaxes my body and uplifts my mind and soul. I was hoping for a similar experience with the soft gels.
Each Soft Gel contains 25mg of THC. This review is based on my Minimum Effective Dose (MED), or the smallest amount needed to achieve the desired effect. My MED currently sits at 100mg of THC, so I took four Soft Gels. If you are unsure of your MED, it is recommended to start with 5mg of THC, wait 90 minutes then incrementally add 5mg as needed. Because of this, I would not recommend this product to anyone new to cannabis, or to those who have an MED under 25mg. This is a product for higher dose consumers only. Remember, your MED may change as your tolerance gets higher or lower.
The Soft Gels come in a standard medicine bottle with a push and twist off top. Once open, 40 golden amber capsules await you inside. There is a very light herbal aroma when you stick your nose inside the bottle, and it is not the most pleasant of smells, but aroma isn’t the draw here. The Soft Gels are tiny, about the size of my pinky fingernail, making them very easy to consume. I took all four of mine in one gulp with some water.
I took the capsules just as we sat down to dinner, and by the end of the meal, I was starting to feel relaxed. Not tired at all, just a relaxing feeling washing over my body. Only a few minutes later, I started to feel the uplifting effects of the limonene, which I am sensitive to. For some consumers, the myrcene and beta-caryophyllene might overpower the limonene, keeping these on the more relaxing end of the spectrum, but I definitely felt the uplifting, euphoric effects of the limonene more than those of the more relaxing terpenes. When we got to the theater, I contently sank into my seat as we waited for the show to begin. The buzz in the crowd fed my energy and excitement, and I started to wonder whether this was actually for my wife or for me. The next two and a half hours were very enjoyable. We laughed hysterically at the funny parts, as well as all of the women (and some men) in the crowd swooning every time Patrick Swayze appeared on screen. The band and singers were fantastic, and all of my senses were enhanced by these Soft Gels. By the time we walked to our car, the effects had started gradually wearing off, leaving me in a state of relaxation and contentment.
If you are a higher dose consumer who is looking for a product that is easy to consume, zero calories and provides an uplifting yet balanced effect, then the Buddies 25mg Soft Gels are a perfect fit. Besides seeing a sit-down show, other potential use cases for this product could be enjoying a picnic in the park, going to a sporting event or watching a fireworks show. Anything that involves visual/audio/sensory experiences without requiring too much physical activity would be ideal. Enjoy!
