Ridgeline Farms had been bubbling up in my San Diego circles more and more lately, mostly thanks to their award-winning Lantz cultivar (Green Lantern X Ridgeline Runtz) and a lineup of other heavy hitters. For months, I'd been trying to track down anything from them in SoCal with zero luck—until now. I finally got my hands on their Blueberry Caviar (Grape Gas x Lantz), a mixed light flower that took home both Bronze and Silver for limonene and terpinolene at the CA Cannabis Awards. And yeah, it lived up to the hype.

The aromas were spilling out the bag well before I put the flower in my hands. When stacked up against the other mixed light flowers I was judging that day, Blueberry Caviar's incredibly powerful scent was the one that immediately captured my attention. Loud, loud, loud. It smelled like a cherry pie infused with additives to really bring out that "cherry" aroma, but this baby was au naturel. It was real, and it was spectacular. Buttery, minty cherry pie topped with strawberry jam and buttery raspberry cream. Incredibly sweet and velvety. I ground it up, and the legend grew with wafts of fresh-baked oatmeal raisin cookies and blueberry muffins. Finally, a menthol-driven, medicinal herbal sarong wrapped around the whole experience.

And the nugs? Absolute stunners. Deep purple and green, frosted in a thick, cloudy coat of pearly-white and amber trichomes. Sticky and dense with a golden shimmer-this was flower you stopped and stared at.

Then I loaded a bowl into the B1 vaporizer, and the admiration turned into full-on respect. Potent, flavorful, and silky smooth vapor that let the terps and cannabinoids do all the talking.

Flavor-wise, the sweet berry notes came through up front. Sugared blueberries, medicinal grapes, and buttery blueberry muffins. But I kept going, and a bitter adhesive flavor came into the fold, holding hands with an odd salty minerality that coated my mouth and stained my tongue. The flavors weren't quite as explosive as the aroma, but matching that would've been near impossible. Even a step down from the nose, the taste held its own.

Blueberry Caviar provided massive clouds of thick, creamy vapor that produced a street hustler's coat-full of powerful effects. What did you need? Mood boost?

Boom! Body buzz? Bang! Intense waves of calm accompanied by a 300hp mental rev of rumbling energy. I was relaxed but focused, introspective but social, and I was having minor life revelations mid-sentence. Eventually, it settled into a warm, heavy stone-like l'd melted into the couch, eyes low, smiling like Jim Breuer in Half Baked but feeling like The Guy on the Couch. Sleepy, cozy, content.

Blueberry Caviar was a reminder not to sleep on mixed light flower. From nose to nug to effect, this could easily go toe-to-toe with some of the best indoor in the state. It was a crowd-pleaser with range. The universal donor of weed. And Ridgeline Farms? They didn't need to follow up Lantz with another banger. But they did.

And Blueberry Caviar was proof they knew exactly what they were doing.
