I was pleasantly surprised to find this rosin shot refreshingly light and juicy. In a sea of sugary & artificial tasting seltzers and sodas, this compact shot is made with real blueberry juice and whole-plant rosin. While the unassuming packaging would blend in with other beverages on a shelf, its source is Emerald Sun, a hashery and manufacturing facility based in Mendocino County.

One of the biggest challenges with cannabis beverages is formulation. Especially when using nanoemulsion tech, which can create a bitter, drying mouthfeel. The blueberry juice does a notable job masking most bitterness, and the mouthfeel of the juice makes it easy to shoot. Overall, the experience feels clear-headed and enjoyable.

If you’re looking for something discreet and glug-able, this is a great option. This would be a great summer afternoon party offering. The colder, the better though to keep the bitterness at bay. Keep it on ice if you’re not drinking it straight from the fridge. If you’d like to play with the shot as an ingredient, pour it over ice with a little mint and tonic water for an easy, elevated mocktail.
